The Swedish hello is just hej (pronounced hey) which sounds super easy to work with but is actually a bit startling in use. It was so seemingly informal to just say hey to all of these lovely blond strangers, as if a how you doin? might follow. But I was so happy to greet Stockholm, especially with two of my favorite girls.
In our first hour or so in town, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that our hostel was not dodgy. For the price, we fully expected moderate dodginess but were thrilled to get high ceilings, Swedish design, and only kind of smelly showers.
After receiving these beautiful presents from Charlene (love my apron!! thank you thank you thank you!!) and ditching our bags, we went on to pursue one of our mainstays of the trip, great food, and Måster Olof did not disappoint.
