Ali loves Deutschland

I made Ali make up the title for her post. Then, while she was trying to take a nap, I asked her what she loved about it, and she listed the following items:

  • Bread-One day we had pretzels with peanut butter and jelly for breakfast, turkey and cheese pretzel sandwiches for lunch, and a pretzel with chocolate for a post lunch snack.
  • Adorable babies and buggies-She claims that the cuteness of many of the small chillun here helped convince her to have more.
  • Dirndls-She looked smoking in mine.
  • Em and Jeremy-She kind of had to say that. I had asked the question, and she doesn't speak German or know how to get to the airport.
  • Weinschorles-I concur.
  • Eating in Biergartens-We've had only two adventures here to date. First with Moki, a great guy from New York, and secondly with Jay and Fredrik when we were heavily rained upon.
  • Hyenas-I actually just misheard her here. She really said hiking.
  • Visits to Tenglemann's-I'm awfully appreciative of having a bagger and carrier for my groceries and may have taken her to the corner store excessively. I believe her inclusion of this frequented location was out of sheer politeness.
  • Recycling-Yes, I made her help me with this too, but I believe Ali really appreciated the dedication to environmentalism here. While I made her carry my braun glass and Verpackung.
  • Listening to the birds outside the windows
  • Flower boxes
  • Biking-And we're spending Ali's last day in Munich, boo, with a big bike tour tomorrow.

This is the view from our hike in the Wilder Kaiser area of Austria above Hintersteiner Lake.
The five plus hour hike even made Jeremy sleepy.

We hiked Sunday too but chose a gentler route, this time involving beer looking funiculars floating us up the lion's share of the mountain.

one thing ali does not like is exceptionally hot curling irons.

The sleepy Jeremy is not really a picture of me at all. For proof, click on it and look above my right elbow. Notice how Emily was really focusing on the nice gentleman in the speedo. Sly camera work, Em!

Thanks for the info on the speedo Jeremy. I would have missed it. It made me laugh.

Margaret, I'm happy to be your speedo-spotter! Wait! Look out! Jimmy's behind you! ;-)
