Weihnachtsmarkt in der Residenz

Nadja and I went to the Christmas market at the Residenz where scary mechanical fairy tale characters reminiscent of the crew at Chuck E. Cheese sang songs and told stories. Nadja asked me what American fairy tales were like. Umm, we just use yours.

I was happy to add two new drinks to my list: Kirschpunsch and Glögg. Glögg is a Swedish drink served with raisins and nuts, which I thought might be kind of weird and chunky, but it was really delightful. The raisins soak up the liquor and seem like a nice snack at the end. You can find Glögg in the square between the Neues Rathaus and the Residenz at the same booth that sells Heisse Oma, or hot grandma. It looked a little like eggnog.
