Don't pictures of Bavaria sometimes look like advertisements for heaven, or at least for beer? 
This scene is near Walchensee where we were doing ongoing research to find the best hike to take with Alison. And the feedback was all positive, though we also want to take you to about seven other ones Ali, so we're not totally sold.
There's an airplane there, just below the first peak called Herzogstand. And this is only the second tallest of the four peaks on our route: Herzogstand (duke's stand), Martinskopf (Martin's head), Heimgarten (home garden), and Rotwandkopf (red wall head). One of the coolest things about this path was this stretch where you get to walk along the ridge of the cliff; fun hiking with a lake and a steep drop on either side.
And it was one of the prettiest days. There was hardly any snow left, and my feet were totally dry at the day's end.
Alas, I didn't think there were enough pictures to fully convey just how super aqua the water was. like a big aqua velva reservoir.
