So Long Green Gray Couch

Our furniturelessness has finally come to and end! Three nice blokes showed up, delivered our furniture, tore up our walls, and wished us a good day. And it mostly was, save the passing of our much loved couch.
When the dudes told us she wasn't making it up the narrow stairs, my reaction was bust it up! This is how Julie reacted during her blue couch debacle. Ben and Kevbo obliged, and her couch has been with her ever since. Ours, sadly, was not conducive to busting.
Speaking of busting stuff up, Vicki's husband Dave says that all he remembers about the novel To Kill a Mockingbird is that Tom Robinson had to bust up a chiffarobe. My sister Sarah just remembered that the creepy guy left treats in the tree stump. My students have misunderstood the title as Tequila Mockingbird and How to Kill a Mockingbird. Maria once dressed as a ham to play the part of Scout.
So after trying unsuccessfully to bust it, the blokes gave us two options: we could pay them 60 pounds to chuck it or 450 pounds to rent a crane and lift it to the third story window. We asked them to store it for us until we could decide but found all options less appealing than having a busted up couch.
But I promised pictures upon our furniture delivery and managed to tidy one nook alone. This is a corner of our living room where we recently replaced Emil's trusty desk with something with a little storage to hold all of our junk.
It was one inch short of fitting the space until my genius husband got the idea to lift it over the trim. The feet are just chunks of wood we spraypainted black.
I'll try to tidy another corner soon.

Is That a radiator? Aren't you worried the desk will catch on fire?

you're exceptionally perceptive nick. we decided that we could forego heat in the office nook to score a little extra desk space. if it's too cold, we'll just jam two more feet worth of wood blocks under it.
