Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen Day

Our travel luck was wearing thin this weekend as we pulled in too closely to a rock lined parking spot and blew out a tire. Jeremy got hours worth of free German practice trying to coordinate a tire service to travel out to the cute little town we had just pulled into.  There was much rain and waiting, but Jeremy's charm and German prowess allowed us to forego the initially proposed three day wait for a new tire in Oberammergau.  It was really lovely there though, and the lunch was awesome so our luck wasn't really so bad.

In our final destination in Garmish that night, a very sweet, very elderly lady helped us into our bed and breakfast in an exchange Sarah later likened to the scene from European Vacation where the hotel clerk yells "Ma!" and has his mother carry up Clark Griswald's bags. She didn't carry our bags, but she did traverse some stairways someone her age ought not maneuver.  At the top of the steps, she took Sarah and Dave's key away, said they were very klein, and changed them into a smaller room.  ha ha.

Though temps were too cold for beer gardens, they were perfect for enjoying the beer tent with band in the town square.

It was the best bed and breakfast and beer tent that I have ever been to! Of course it was my first bed and breakfast and my other beer tent experiences included lots of busch light and AC/DC. But it was the most wonderful weekend none the less!
