Pre-brambling, we got to visit Dan and Jessica's local pub complete with a barn that took me right back to Grandpa Nutt's hay mow where one of my great joys of childhood was climbing big bunches of hay.

Thanks so much Jessica and Dan for introducing me to this activity and to the charming word "bramble" which is apparently specific to picking wild blackberries.
Jeremy's long arms enhanced his ability to bramble.
And Jessica was not only a skilled brambler but looked good brambling.

Also, thought of Guy and his stomach remedies en route.

good question mom, i should have had a plan for the blackberries. i think jessica baked up something fancy, but we just ate half immediately with our oatmeal and finished the rest off with some ice cream. okay, it was frozen yogurt, i just didn't want to sound like a yuppy.
We didn't have enough for a crumble so we made a coulis for ice cream. No froyo in this house!
