New York and Muskegon

Our first leg of our US trip was a quick stay in New York where we especially enjoyed running around Central Park, cheese fondue in a Tom Colicchio restaurant, and visiting the gigantic Metropolitan Museum of Art and its neat rooftop cafe.
But it was of course the best to be back home where highlights include visiting Lake Michigan with sweet niece Ellis and Rach and Lou,
sunset pontooning with mom and dad,
a party for six-year-old twins Nick and Molly involving a hundred hot wheels in an epic scavenger hunt and their names in potato salad,
lunching with the notorious Tall Fun Amy and some of the nice babes she works with in Spring Lake,
visiting all time favorites Pekadills and the Station with Tom and Carla, hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa in Canadian Lakes, picking Ellis up from school, and watching the cars roll in to the Hot Rod Power Tour from the Crowders' idyllic campsite.
You can read some of the praise for the event here, which is pretty cool for Muskegon and for my dad as one of the organizers.
Some other fun pictures from my trip home: beautiful nephews Mitchell and Max, Mom and Lou, my mom's cat either Jake and Jack, Crowders' dog Rico, and the crazy turkey vultures in neighbor Terri's yard.

Loved you pictures and review of the precious time you spent with us. I didn't see that car with the dough boy but your Dad and I laughed seeing it. It was special to us when we were dating years ago. Loved Molly and Nick's picture too. If I knew the potato salad was going on the Bolg, I'd have spent more time on it.

Yes, those were some great pics but not enough pics of Em, plus I was in none of the pictures at all due to a scheduling snafu, therefore, Em must return or another visit in August! Thank you... (By the way, the WORD VERIFICATION for me was "dorkma")

mom! maybe for molly and nick's seventh birthday, you could construct them something out of rice krispies. rice krispie seven layer salad? rice krispie hot wheels?

tom! yeah, you should be in some of the pictures! no more scheduling snafus. a return in august? but world war z is filming here all of august. maybe you should come here instead and advise them on proper american zombie behavior.

dorkma, ha. kind of like dogma, but the beliefs or opinions held by dorks. :)

Em, loved the pics and love reading your blog. Molly seems to choke Nick a lot in pics. Maybe face smushing is her new thing. Had a wonderful time with you. Love you tons!
