Our first big trek was way over the top of Positano where a cute friendly old Italian farmer ran up to us to give us a free fresh head of fennel. mmm, fennel, a Jaegermeister flavored vegetable.
Our next big ole hike was a much more popular one known as the Path of the Gods. The name comes from the legend that this was the path the Greek gods took to the sea where the Sirens, mentioned previously for their toplessness, lured Odysseus with their singing. This hike took us past magical coastal views, the mountain of biscotti, grazing sheep, pack mules, neat ruins, and one gigantic snake that either chased us viciously or was startled by us and rolled down a rock face toward our path.
Our next hike started in Sorrento and took us through miles of sunny lemon orchards interspersed with silvery olive trees and one nunnery.
Our next big hike was filled with unexpected treasures and good luck. The day started with a downpour that gave us a good reason to delay our hike and tour the town's awesome cathedral. The sun came out as we hiked through the ruins of the old mills in the valley with flowered stairs and waterfalls you could swim in.
This hike took us up to the little town of Pontone where we sat out the second big downpour of the day at a great pizzeria before the sun came out again before we stormed this castle.
The day we didn't hike was the day Jeremy bravely defied death to drive on twisty cliffside roads dangling over perilous heights to a tiny town called Ravello. Here we merely strolled.
This was the day we had our only picture where we're together and not wearing hiking boots.

Em, it looks so beautiful there! I love the lemons orchards. Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks. Yeah! You didn't pick up any parseltongue from the Harry Potter set to talk the snake out of your way did you? Because if you did, that would be cool.
We took this journey last summer, but not on foot like you. It is one of our favorite destinations. It looks like you experienced everything the Amalfi coast has to offer and then some!

oh my gosh! Those pictures were great. The only hiking Nate and I did was from bar to bar. It looks like so much fun!
